Judge Interest Signup

Thank you for your interest in judging at this tournament! Without your help, we cannot provide an amazing experience to our guests, who come from colleges and universities across the region. We expect at least a dozen schools to be represented at this year's event, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

The tournament runs Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15, and we would love to have you join us for as much of it as you are able. If you sign up for a time block, please make sure you are available for the entirety of that period — rounds are scheduled back to back, and we count on our judges to be present and ready when their round is called.

No debate experience is necessary, and frankly, none is expected. IPDA debate is designed to be accessible to general audiences, and we genuinely value feedback from judges who bring an everyday perspective rather than a technical one. If you can follow an argument and offer thoughtful feedback, you are exactly the kind of judge we are looking for.

When signing up, we ask that you consider committing to at least two rounds if your schedule allows. While this is not a requirement, a consistent judging pool makes for a better experience for everyone — competitors and judges alike. If you are able to join us on Saturday, lunch will be provided between rounds two and three (around 2:00 p.m.)

One scheduling note for those available Saturday morning: please do not sign up for both the Team IPDA Semifinal and the Team IPDA Final. You are welcome to judge either one, but not both. There are no other restrictions on the number of rounds you may judge.

When filling out the form:

1. If you are doing this for extra credit for a professor, then add their names in the comment section below. If you wish to report this to GivePulse, then send a verfication link after the tournament, and I will verify the attendance.

2. For the events that you are qualified to judge, click on all of the boxes. Yes, all of them; even the one for the Professional Division. I promise that you are qualified.

We are so grateful for your time and enthusiasm — this tournament truly could not happen without volunteers like you. If you have any questions, email Director of Forensics Anthony McMullen at AMcMullen@uca.edu.

Please indicate any schools, programs, or competitors that you should not judge.
